Monsters Match: progress
about 70%
Final polishThe game is complete: 150 levels across 12 worlds, in 9 languages. In early October a full review fixed 30 bugs and tuned the difficulty level by level; getting it ready for release is what remains.
Latest changes
- Difficulty raised a notch after the first playtests: one move fewer per level beyond the first world (October 2026).
- Tested on a real phone: three flaws found, then fixed (October 2026).
- Six new colour themes: Ocean, Forest, Lava, Ice, Aurora and Royal (October 2026).
- All 150 levels tuned one by one: difficulty rises in waves, with 'hard' levels flagged on the map, each followed by a gentler one (October 2026).
- 30 bugs fixed, including a win that could be lost if the game was closed during the end-of-level animation (October 2026).
- Evolving monsters, which grow on the board up to a fifth stage, and the first colour themes (September 2026).
In progress
- One decision is pending: whether to make the free boosters a little more generous now that the game is harder.
- Trying the harder version on a phone.
Coming next
- Last hands-on checks on a phone: sound, vibration, reminders, smoothness on a modest device.
- Proofreading of the translations, ideally by native speakers.
- New screenshots for the store page, since the themes and the hard levels now look different.
- Publishing the privacy policy online.
- Closed test with a small group of players before release.
